# Troubleshooting

Find your symptom below, run through the checks in order, and follow the linked guide if you need more context.

---

## Server not listed in dashboard

1. Confirm you have **Manage Server** on that Discord server.
2. Confirm Formify is still a member (not kicked).
3. Refresh [formify.pro/dashboard](https://formify.pro/dashboard).
4. In Discord, run `/register`.
5. If the server appears under **Invite Ready Servers**, click **Add Bot** and complete OAuth.

→ [Setup](/getting-started/setup/)

---

## Form message never appeared

1. Did you click **Publish** after saving? Saving alone is not enough.
2. Can Formify **View Channel** and **Send Messages** in the target channel?
3. Is the form **disabled**? Check the Basics tab or run `/list forms`.
4. Try **Publish** again and pick a different channel to test.
5. From Discord: `/resend form:<id>` in the channel where you want the message.

---

## Submissions not appearing in the review channel

1. Verify the form **Output** channel in the dashboard matches where you are looking.
2. Check Formify permissions in that channel (view + send).
3. If output is **Thread** or **Forum**, look in the configured parent, not a random text channel.
4. Open **Submission Logs** — if submissions appear there but not in Discord, it is a channel permission or wrong output ID.
5. Check whether the form is disabled or the user hit cooldown / blocked roles / one-submission limit.

→ [Submissions](/guides/submissions/)

---

## Response buttons do nothing

1. Clicker must have a form **mod role** or Manage Server.
2. Open the submission in **Submission Logs** — does it still exist?
3. If someone ran `/clearsubmissions`, old Discord messages will not work properly.
4. Check whether the submission was already approved/denied/ignored (buttons disable after use).

---

## Roles not applied on approve/deny

1. Formify needs **Manage Roles**.
2. Formify's role must be **above** the roles in your after-approve / remove lists.
3. Confirm the correct roles are selected on the form **Roles** tab.
4. Check audit-style activity on the submission output — Formify often logs a failure reason in Discord.

→ [Permissions](/getting-started/permissions/)

---

## DMs not sending

1. The user may have DMs disabled for the server or bot.
2. Check approve/deny/DM embed settings — some forms route responses to a channel instead.
3. Try **DM Response** manually from a fresh test submission.

---

## Tickets not creating

1. Formify needs **Manage Channels**.
2. Confirm category exists and Formify can create channels there.
3. Check **max open per user** on the template or form ticket settings.
4. Submitter must still be in the server.
5. For form tickets, confirm ticket output or Ticket Response is configured.

→ [Tickets](/guides/tickets/)

---

## Cannot claim / close ticket

1. User needs a **support role** on the template or Manage Server.
2. Run `/ticket info` in the channel to see current state.
3. `/ticket add` requires Manage Server — different from claim/close.

→ [Commands](/reference/commands/)

---

## Bot profile won't save

1. Grant Formify **Change Nickname** in Server settings → Roles.
2. Use images under 512 KB (PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP).
3. Wait a moment if the bot recently reconnected, then try again.

→ [Bot profile](/guides/bot-profile/)

---

## `/create` says form limit reached

Discord-side creation allows four forms per server by default. Remove unused forms or vote on top.gg if your server uses that bonus. You can still create forms from the dashboard.

## Get more help

If you worked through the section above and it still fails, note:

- Server ID and form/ticket ID
- What you expected vs what happened
- Screenshots of permission settings (Formify role + channel)

Then ask in the [support server](https://discord.gg/EPbYJ2UFN7).
